Groups
Why groups?
Working in groups is a rich alternative to working one-to-one.
We all have experience of groups in our lives, starting with our original family, followed by school, perhaps college and then work organisations. When we find ourselves in a group we inevitably draw on our earlier experiences. This may be helpful but sometimes it is problematic and we end up re-creating the difficulties of the past.
A self-development or therapy group is an opportunity to develop awareness of these patterns and to discover new and more creative ways of being and relating.
One advantage of working in groups is the rich diversity of experiences which inevitably arise and the support that can be found with fellow group members.
Work organisations are, of course, groups and difficulties that arise in work teams are often shaped by participants’ wider experience of groups. Groups can be an excellent way of developing teams and the relationships within them.
I have been running and facilitating groups since 1994. If you or your organisation is interested, please contact me.
